Operations on this line:

Upfront, I am not that familiar with this former trackage.
This line used to be known as the NS&T Port Dalhousie Division.
I believe this line began at Barrymore Avenue at the north end of Eastchester Avenue in St. Catharines and headed west towards the GM plant. There were 2 ROW's from the west end of St. Catharines that went to Port Dalhousie. I don't know if it was for directional running or not.
In 1992, I saw a CN switcher pulling railcars westward somewhere east of York Street, but on Louisa Street.
During a second venture along this line, I photographed this line from Barrymore to GM. A number of years ago, I went to do a more indepth look at the line, but it was hard to fallow. I didn't see one home was built on the ROW, blocking all access past that point.
I have seen photos showing rail going north and south on Ontario Street in front of the GM plant. I don't know if that had it's own trackage name under the system. I've been told there used to be tracks near GM on Carlton Avenue.
As I didn't live in St. Catharines, it was a line too much out of my way to get to. I do know it was removed in 1994.
I was up in Port Dalhousie in the 2000's and I did see the former ROW in the grass. It was prominent south of the Legion.
I believe CN Merritton yard was responsible for servicing this line, after the NS&T disappeared into the CN system.
