Operations on this line:

The CN Halton Subdivision runs between the Jct. of the CN York Subdivision to the north and the Jct. to the CN Oakville Subdivision at Burlington to the south. The CN Halton Subdivision also connects to the Goderich-Exeter Guelph Subdivision at Georgetown, which gives access to Goderich, Stratford and Centralia.
The CN Halton Subdivision heads through Brampton for trains heading east or west to get to CN's MacMillan Yard and the B.I.T. Yard and beyond such has the CN York Subdivision towards Toronto to access the CN Kingston and CN Bala Subdivision to the north and northeast. The B.I.T. is the Brampton Intermodal Terminal.
Mac Yard is the nick name everyone seems to call it. The yard is not exactly on the CN Halton Subdivision. A wye track heads north off of the CN Halton Subdivision just west of Keele Street and goes under Hwy 7. Hwy 7 is where the mouth to MAC Yard is located. Mac Yard is a dead end at the north end of the Yard.
The CN Halton Subdivision is double track with some single track portions on it.
At Georgetown, the CN Halton Subdivision has a yard for storing GO trains in the evenings and on the weekends.
At mile 49.4 in Burlington, the CN Halton Subdivision joins the CN Oakville Subdivision at mile 32.2, next to the Plains Road East underpass.
VIA Rail uses the CN Halton Subdivision between the Jct. to the York Subdivision and the Jct. to the GEXR Guelph Subdivision to move passengers through the Stratford and St. Mary's area. Passenger trains don't use the CN Halton Subdivision between the Jct. to the GEXR Guelph Subdivision and the CN Oakville Subdivision.
The majority of freight trains use the CN Halton Subdivision. Some freight trains such as auto traffic bypass the CN Halton Subdivision and use the CN Oakville Subdivision because of the Ford Plant in Oakville.
The Goderich-Exeter Rwy. also uses the CN Halton Subdivision between the Jct. to the GEXR Guelph Subdivision and the entrance to Mac Yard and return.
