Traffic movement on this line:

Rule 105 Territory - Not to exceed 15 mph on entire trackage.
Closed to rail traffic between Mile 6.6 and Mile 2.1
Trackage between Mile 2.1 and 0.0 is now under CN control as Rule 105 under CTC Territory.

Points of interest along this line:

Mile 0.0 (Fort Erie) : Niagara Blvd, Fort Erie : This used to be CP Fort Erie. There are now CN/CP trains running on the former CP Fort Erie Subdivision between 0.0 and 2.1. The track is designated as EE99 (Track 99). Many trains used to refer it as Gretzky Siding.... hehehe... The first time I heard that was from CP train 167.

Mile 12.0 (Koable) : (South) Brookfield Road, Niagara Falls : At mile 12 is Station Name Sign Koable. Koable doesn't serve any purpose, other than it is where there is a siding between Koable Road and South Brookfield Road. Koable is just east of South Brookfield Road.

Mile 13.7 (Brookfield - area) : Stauth Road, Welland : Mile 13.7 of the CP Stevensville Spur is where it connects to the CP Montrose Subdivision. This general area is known as Brookfield because SNS Brookfield was relocated to mile 16.1 of the CP Hamilton Subdivision. You are very lucky these days to get a picture of a train on the CP Stevensville Spur. Servicing is done so sporadically.

Operations on this line:

Trackage these days is about 50% of what used to be of the former Michigan Central, NYC, Penn Central Fort Erie Branch of the old Michigan Central, NYC and Penn Central trackage that went from WX Tower in downtown Welland to the bridge in Fort Erie.
The CP Stevensville Spur runs from mile 13.4 of the CP Montrose Spur these days to mile 6.6, which is east of Stevensville, east of Winger Road. The line has been closed since the 1980's between Fort Erie and Stevensville (mile 0 - 6).
This line has had some changes done to it due to the Welland Canal Relocation Project during the early 1970's. This line was part of the old Canada Southern, MC, NYC and Penn Central line to Fort Erie, as just stated, but when the new canal bypassing Welland was created, this line was cut off from Welland, itself, before this segment was kept and used until it was shut down. I will explain below.
The line... remembering that things have changed, once passed under Miller Road and then it used to go directly east to Fort Erie. Miller Road had originally been a grade crossing, but an overpass was built because this became the number one location in the area for train-car accidents.
The line until it was torn out in 2002 went under Miller Road, but took a sharp turn south across the 'new' part of Netherby Road. A.k.a. Townline Road, closer to the Welland Canal. (Not the Netherby Road that the CN Stamford Subdivision grade crossing is located on. Netherby Road passed east past the Welland County Motorcycle club then the road turned south and joined into the major road that parallels the CP Hamilton Subdivision. From that intersection,m heading east is Townline Road, heading east is the continuation of Netherby road. That section that passes the motorcycle club is what I like to call old Netherby Road.
This line is now deactivated from any regular use. The 3 signaled crossings were depowered around I'm guessing 2010, but prior to that, the line was serviced when required by both CP Welland Yard Job 2, but I have known that CP Welland uard Job 1 used to go down there, if they were back from Niagara Falls early. The CP Welland yard Job used to service 2 plants. One was called in early years Canada Color. It printed newspaper flyers, for instance. There was a second plant just beyond it on the line, but early on, I never knew what industry it was. This second place became a windmill manufacturer in Stevensville This Windmill plant began after the printing plant closed. This windmill plant was already in business long after the line was shut down east of there to regular traffic. I did see a TEC train head to Fort Erie on this like about 1998. I was out by Sider Road accidentally photographing the line, at the crossing.
The CP Fort Erie Subdivision was what this line used to be called prior to being renamed the CP Stevensville Spur. The line sat for years in the high weeds east of Stevensville, for years, until the mid 2010's when CP had the line torn out from the bumper at mile 6.6 at the former windmill plant eastward to mile 2.2, east of Pettit Road next to CN Duff in Fort Erie. CN Duff is the west end of CN Fort Erie yard. CN and CP (and CP's former property owners paralleled the CN Stamford Subdivision, all the way to the Fort Erie International bridge. The Stevensville Spur, or if you want to say it as the CP Fort Erie Subdivision, was not torn out from CN Duff to the International bridge because CN took that track and renamed it track 99, as an NS interchange track. I was lucky to photograph the line about a year before it was torn out, east of Stevensville.
In November 2001, the CP Fort Erie Subdivision was reconnected to the CN Stamford Subdivision at the International bridge, after several years of being free of any CN connection. I guess CP, when they took over Conrail's territory in Niagara and explicitly Niagara Falls, chose to use the Niagara Falls route, thus ignoring their option to use their predecessors running rights over the Fort Erie International bridge.
Shortly before the connection to the CN Stamford Subdivision was put back in, CP handed over the CP Fort Erie Subdivision at Fort Erie to CN. Possibly a financial exchange for trackage, as CP took over the CN Cayuga Subdivision from CN Brookfield East and all the way east to mile 19.1ish across from mile 18.3 on the CP Hamilton Subdivision. CN tore out one of the 2 CP tracks at for Erie, as there was an east and westbound main. they kept the eastbound main and called it track 99. CN then put a connection to the CP track in at CN Duff in late 2001 or very early 2002.
At Fort Erie that CP Fort Erie Subdivision track that CN took over was upgraded as the row had deteriorated at lot since last used in the mid 1980s.
At Fort Erie, the pre owners of this trackage had a station on the north side of the track about 100 yard west of the International bridge. I believe it was a passenger depot. It was already closed when I saw it for a brief period in 1992. Amtrak used to head down through from Welland and stop at this depot for passengers. I'm not sure if the TH&B running rights passenger trains, if they had any, ever stopped. I know TH&B had freight trains that came down through here. I believe Amtrak stopped coming down this way, shortly after 1985, to cross into Buffalo, VIA the International bridge. I believe once they left (they obviously) moved onto the CN Grimsby Subdivision.
CP's December 2001 timetable shows the CP Fort Erie Subdivision becoming abandoned from mile 6.6 to around Pettit Road in Fort Erie, where CN owns the line east to the bridge. That was obvious. You will see photos where you see tracks at mile 2.69 and then the track is gone at the next posting of photos at that crossing without the tracks. That is when the old line was taken out. Probably within the month prior.
There used to be a mile long siding around mile 12 of the CP Fort Erie Subdivision (Stevensville Spur, after 2001). This siding was there in 2013, but in 2018, I thought I saw it removed. I know there was a switch still in at Brookfield Road, but I don't know if it goes anywhere. This siding was often used to store rail cars that aren't regularly used. For years they stored railcars between crossings, after they deactivated the power at the crossings.
As mentioned above, until 2011 - 2012, there were two industries on this line. Both have since closed and I heard that the line was marked as closed in the spring of 2013.
Again, as mentioned above, in late October 2014, I noticed that the old Fort Erie Branch / Fort Erie Subdivision was being lifted westward from next to CN Duff, of the CN Stamford Subdivision. By November 8, 2014, the line had been lifted as far west as the QEW, at the point in time.
In early 2015, I was informed that the line had been removed westward across Winger Road in Stevensville, and that a track bumper had been place on the track.
The line now sits dormant in the weeds, hoping that someone starts up and makes the line profitable.

These photos are of the former NYC/PC main line that connected Welland Diamond with Fort Erie. Photos are shown, taken from Southworth Street in Welland, southeast towards the present Welland Canal toards the trackage where the CN Welland Tube Spur and CP Welland Tube Lead are located. The last two photos are looking across the CP Stevensville Spur about 1/2 mile ast of the Jct. to the CP Hamilton Subdivision (former CN Cayuga Subdivision).
This trackage was also known as the Fort Erie Branch, under pre-Conrail days.

These photos are of the former west leg of the old E&O west leg connecting track on the north side of the old CP line at Petitt Road in Fort Erie at 2.69. This track was abandoned in the 1930's.
Red dot is of the four 2005 photos at the crossing. The purple dots shows where the leg connected in to the north.

These photos are of the west lead into CP Fort Erie yard, and previously used by Onrail, PC, NYC, MCRR. This is located just east of Petitt Road in Fort Erie.
I will be taking more photos of the line and the grounds of the yard this year.
Tle leftmost dot in the map is the first 3 photos in the group of photos.
I was informed that this line and yard was removed about 1988 or 1989.
